Migrant cleaners at Ark Globe Academy in South London, employed by contractor Atlas Cleaning Limited, fought to win the London Living Wage in 2020 but in 2026 this was abruptly stopped. Now they can’t make ends meet.
Maryori, a migrant cleaner at Hackney Council, saw her hours cut and income reduced while her health needs were overlooked and her grievances left unresolved. Write to Hackney Council HR manager to get Maryori the justice she deserves.
They are employed directly by the NHS yet they are not given the same Agenda for Change contracts and T&Cs as the rest of the NHS staff. They deserve NHS pay and conditions.
